Cookies & Privacy Choices
Storage helps your basket and checkout work. Invitation preferences, analytics and marketing measurement are separate, optional choices.
1. Your choice
These settings control optional storage and tracking on the Maeum website. “Reject optional cookies” declines optional preferences, Google Analytics and Meta marketing cookies. “Accept optional cookies” allows all three. Open Settings to choose them separately, then select “Save my choices”. We use these optional technologies only after you consent to the relevant category. Consent to preferences or analytics does not enable Meta marketing tracking. Your cookie choices do not subscribe you to marketing emails.
You can change your choices or withdraw consent at any time by opening Cookie settings from the footer. Separate controls apply on our Shopify store and checkout, as explained in section 4.
You can also reopen choices from the footer. Withdrawing preferences removes the newsletter-popup marker; withdrawing analytics stops website measurement and removes its first-party cookies. The newsletter popup may appear again after reloading without its preference marker.

Essential storage supports your requested shopping service or records your privacy choice. Blocking it through your browser may affect basket persistence or checkout return behaviour.
3. Optional newsletter-popup preference
maeum-newsletter-shown is session storage, read and written only when you allow preferences. It remembers that you have seen the newsletter popup during the tab’s session. It lasts for that session or until you withdraw the choice and contains no name or email.
4. Shopify accounts and checkout
Shopify sign-in and payment services have their own storage and controls. Read Shopify’s cookie policy and the choices shown there. Choices on this website do not automatically change choices on a different Shopify domain.
A website-hosted account session, if used, sets maeum_customer_token and maeum_csrf for authentication and request security. Duration follows the sign-in token’s expiry, with a seven-day default. Our current account link uses Shopify’s email-code sign-in.
5. Analytics and advertising
Google Analytics 4 measures website visits, page views, shopping interactions and successful email subscriptions only when you allow analytics. Its script is not loaded before that choice. Names, email addresses, sign-in codes, checkout tokens and form contents are not included in our analytics events. Advertising storage, Google Signals and advertising personalisation are disabled in our website integration.
Google Analytics may set _ga and _ga_2NNTFRSJ7T cookies to distinguish visitors and sessions. We configure a maximum lifetime of 180 days without extending it on each visit. You can withdraw consent sooner in Cookie settings.
When you allow analytics, maeum-acquisition-v1 session storage remembers public campaign tags, the public landing-page path and the referring website hostname for up to 30 minutes or until the tab closes. These details are attached to your Shopify basket and order to help us understand which links bring customers to Maeum. We do not store full referring URLs, advertising click identifiers or form details in this record. Withdrawing analytics consent clears the website record and stops it being attached to new checkouts; it does not remove details already attached to an earlier order.
Meta Pixel loads on public website pages only after you allow Meta marketing cookies. It measures page views, products added to your basket, checkout starts and successful newsletter subscriptions, helping us measure marketing and audiences on Facebook and Instagram. Meta receives browser/device information, your IP address, visited public URLs, advertising click identifiers and the selected event information. Our integration does not send names, emails, form contents or account/checkout secrets and disables automatic form matching and event discovery. We do not load it on account pages or URLs containing unknown query parameters.
Meta may set _fbp and _fbc first-party cookies to recognise browsers and advertising clicks. These typically last up to 90 days and may be refreshed by Meta. Withdrawing marketing consent stops our events and clears those website cookies. Meta may retain information already received under its own policies. Read Meta’s privacy policy. The separate Maeum website does not load TikTok Pixel. TikTok tracking on our Shopify store and checkout is explained below.
On our Shopify store and checkout, TikTok’s Standard browser pixel measures product views, search, basket additions, checkout starts, payment-information steps, registrations and completed payments when Shopify’s required analytics and marketing permissions are granted. This helps measure TikTok marketing. It can process browser/device information, IP address, cookie identifiers and shopping-event information. Enhanced or Maximum sharing, Events API and automatic customer matching are not enabled. Shopify’s privacy controls govern this pixel; the separate Maeum website does not load it. We use Shopify to measure engagement with our marketing emails so we can assess how our campaigns perform against our targets. We obtain consent before using email-tracking technologies where required. You can withdraw your consent by contacting hello@maeum.co.uk. Permission to receive marketing emails is separate from permission for email tracking. Allowing the newsletter-popup preference does not authorise either activity.
6. Browser controls and contact
You can clear cookies, local storage and session storage through your browser. Clearing cookies removes your saved choice. See our Privacy Policy for personal information.
